highlighting the traditional aspects of
Mayurbhanj Chhau where elements of folk, tribal,
martial, traditional, classical art are woven into its grand mosaic. The compositions include solo and group items
like Dandi, Natraj, Kirat Arjun, Matrupuja etc.
Mayurbhanj Chhau, originally a tribal dance, originated from the forests of Mayurbhanj in the 18th century and got the status of a martial art form in the 19th century. Today, it has evolved to develop unique techniques which symbolises the aesthetic valour of eastern culture.
