Narisimha

We live in interesting times. Times when governments quiver in order to protect the 'honour' of a historical queen, but where sexual harrasment and rapes are commonplace. Times when cities burn to protect idols of mythological goddesses, but female infanticide and domestic violence are an everyday affair.

The production looks at women as a symbol of power, love, sacrifice and hope. Her encounters with societal subjugation and her
zeal to fight against inequality.

From an Indian perspective into dowry, bride burning, child marriage and sati to a more global perspective of unequal pay and representation in positions of power, what is it to be a woman in the 21st Century?
