Mahishasura Mardini
The ballet traces the journey of Mahishasura from birth till his death. It highlights the role of divine forces particularly Brahma, Ganesha, Shiva and Parvati in creation of Shakti and her eventual manifestation into forms of Durga, Kali and Chandi. The battle between Kali and Raktabeeja, Chandi and Chanda-Munda and finally Durga and Mahishasura explores the universal doctrine of triumph of good over evil.
The production celebrates multiplicity of Indian Mythological discourses while extracting their true essence in combining all aspects of nrit, nritya, gayan, vadan and katha.
